Where: Putta Bucca Wetlands Time: 8:00am Join in for a short stroll and then a presentation/Q&A all about hiking and walking gear. If you are thinking about purchasing new gear, upgrading or venturing out for the day a multiday walk, come along and learn about the ins and outs of food, footwear, backpacks, tents and more. 25 February to 3 March 2024: Kosciusko Adventure – briefing (held Wednesday 10 January 2024): Coordinators Lyn Van Putten & Ivy Higgs on hand to cover all aspects to ensure a great adventure. To note; Chris Pavich has an amazing collection of book material for members to borrow. I (Joby) am currently reading one by Dierdre Slattery & Graeme Worboy’s “Kosciuszko – A Great National Park”, (Over 20 participants). Great roll up for the briefing-with a few roles designated; ie Colleen you got the FB task & Trish & Ivy the bandaids if needed, with Bill & Bill providing walk support, Glen to keep all in line and Chris Pavich to steer the ship as previous experience in the area. Melanie your role is to keep up the morale and keep them moving. Look forward to your adventure. Safe Travels and Return.
28 February to 6 March 2024: New Zealand Adventure – Routeburn and Milford Tracks. Note -for those that have booked and confirmed a revised briefing date: (held in January) at Victoria’s. A lot of planning has gone into this walk; great work from all; Eric, Karen, Gretha, Victoria.
22 March to 25 March 2024: Aussie Peace Walk – held in Canberra (annually). (Two walk days involved; Saturday 23, and Sunday 24).
