WALK: Sunday 15th September 2019
Glen Davis – Wollemi National Park
Description: After arriving at Coorongooba campground, we enjoyed a shared morning tea, the walk took us along a fire trail 8km (16klm return trip), into the Wollemi National Park. The Capertee River Trail in most places provided sure footing and with a predominately stable surface, although the walk was steep with loose ground to negotiate in several places. It took approximately 2 1/2 hours to get to near where the trail ends, where a bush lunch was in hand -where we explored the Capertee River and the surrounding bushland. On returning to the cars members relaxed and rehydrated as the day turned our surprisingly hot as the weather pattern surprised us all. We left early (7.30am) from Lovejoy Street carpark & met up with others at the Capertee Rest stop for a scenic drive to Glen Davis & then to the Coorongooba camping area. Great to see the campground well utilised with many tents and visitors enjoying the area.
Leader for the day was Glen Hill and thank you from all the members that attended.
