Members were welcomed and thanked for attending; perfect weather for the brave hearts! and thank you to all 50 members and visitors for arriving in such extreme conditions. Alas approx 12 persons were unable to attend however their names are on the naughty list for next year!
LAWSON PARK-MUDGEE – never ceases to amaze me, the chairs followed the shady area’s and the shaded BBQ area kept the food under wraps. Plenty of room for parking. Enjoyed by many general public too!
THE CLUB PUNCH was consumed very quickly; and thank you to Elly Rands for taking on Euni Markell’s recipe and making it for club consumption.
Presentations were made: Firstly a token: on behalf of all members a (plant with golden yellow flowers) was presented to Trish & Janette Marskell on the passing of their mum and our dear friend and Life Member; Eunice Marskell. (6/12/23). Elly Rands was also given a (plant-yellow petite flowers) as recognition of Euni’s passing. Life Members: Two were in attendance; alas (absent: Joe, Dick, John H). however; Andrea Sauerbier and Dot Robinson received a small gift. The Executive’s and Committee all received a thank you for their contribution to the club; Victoria McAdam, Bill Kempton, Gretha Kroll, Johanna (Joby) Mitchell, Eric Caswell, Feroz Wani, Karen Riley, Bill Webster, Michael Cook, Wayne Wicks, (absent: Melanie Trethowan, Glen Hill). Overall: Walk/Ride/Leader participants: Ivy & Neville Higgs. Outstanding Leadership and walk participants: Gretha & Ole Kroll. Hardcore Walkers recognition: (Male) -Eric Caswell, Graham Pound, Wayne Wicks. Hardcore Walkers recognition: (Female) – Karen Riley, Collen Lovell, (Absent; Mel, Michelle Baker). Mascot Recognition: Bonnie “Capture this Award”: Colleen Lovell, (Absent: Kim McCLoughan). Rider(s) Leader Appreciation: Lynda Byrne, Kim Vidler. Colin Herbert was recognised for his contribution as first time Leader for 2023 & multiple walk participation and perfect parking! Walk Participant/club contribution in safety aspect and “bandaid ready”! went to Trish Kempton. Property Access/Private: (thank you) to David & Christine Milton. Equipment check and walk participant and Joby’s “GO TO” went to John Mitchell. Junior Member: Walk appreciation – Charlie (absent). Several telescopic tongs were handed out: to ensure future camp fires have the ‘correct utensils’. We also had a birthday recipient attend: Christine- Happy Birthday with all our love. During the presentation the members were able to relax and listen to a fantastic version by Wayne Wicks and assisted by Barry Wright, in the way of a poem insighted from a multi-day walk in Easter 2023 of which I heard was “only a reconnaissance”! Blackwater Creek (Widden Valley)!
An amazing banquet provided by members contribution and cold Club Ham & Turkey on hand – we all tucked in for a fantastic meal. Then dessert happened!!! If you like/love pavlova that these amazing ladies had prepared you were in the right place. Oh ps we were all home before dark! some more weary than others:
