Walk: Valley of the Dinosaurs and the Ultimate Slot (Genowlan Area)
Date: 23 June 2024. Leader(s): Karen Riley, Wayne Wicks & reccy team members
Grade: Med/Hard (4-6 hrs); first ascent is fairly steep 1-1.5km (360m elevation). with some scrambling on Dino walk, possible walking through water. Walking poles & gloves recommended and agility.
Pack Morning tea and lunch on the walk. M/T location up the mtn.
Weather: Not suitable after heavy rain. However Diamond mine explore could be alternative.
Distance: 9-10km
Meet: Lovejoy Street carpark (Douro Street entrance) for registering and carpooling optional.
Time: 7:15am for a 7:30 sharp departure. Imperative that you RSVP for this walk.
Description of Walk/What to expect- awesome escarpment view magnificent sandstone pagodas, slot canyons, tall tree ferns scrubby sections, towering cliffs. Option to do Diamond Mine (relics and views) if time permits and if there is interest.
