The Canberra walkers arrived home safe and well last night about 6pm (by car).
We had a fantastic weekend, walked Friday 5 km around the Parliamentary Triangle, Saturday 11km around part of Lake Burley Griffin including the Japanese Gardens, around the Carillon, had lunch at Blundell Cottage then up and down Anzac Parade past the War Remembrance Sculptures, back to the lake over the bridge to our starting point at Albert Hall.
And we did it all again on Sunday but a different route this time. We were bussed to our starting point at the Australian Institute of Sport and made our way down via the Botanic Gardens to Australian National University, over the bridge again to Albert Hall were we all received our medals for walking the two days.
Monday we visited the Arboretum, magnificent lookout over Canberra, incredible display of Bonsai and good coffee. We also caught up with James and Christine Volk and Joe and Joy Proctor, past members of our club.
