This weekend over 2000 cyclists will be taking to the roads both tar and gravel. Saturday and Sunday will see five courses on offer. Saturday being the “dirty Mudgee -55km”, with Sunday courses varying from 175km to the social ride of 35km.
Today’s post is to:
Firstly – thank all those members that are volunteering on Sunday to be out there in the field in your position to support those riders. It was evident from the on-course volunteer/marshalls briefing held today that club members value the importance of cycling in our area. Also great to see former members and friends volunteering, along with Mudgee Rotary members. (Largely due to the hard work put in place by Elly Rands- thank you Elly)! As you may know Elly has been “out of action” for the last couple of weeks – so we all wish Elly well on her recovery.
Secondly– to those club members who are participating in the cycle classic, I have it from a good source that: Bill Webster, Lynda Byrne, Paul Amos & Angela Rayner, Bruce Roberts doing the 65km, with Ivy Higgs and Tania Reid, Ross Mayberry doing the 35km. However I suspect there are a few more riders participating from with the club. Warren Johnstone will be in his element doing the gravel “dirty Mudgee” course on Saturday & looks like the weather will make Saturday just perfect.. to match that title.
Good luck to all members in your roles and Be Safe & Be Seen! Posted for website and facebook by JM.
