A warm winters day, perfect for a bushwalk saw a group of 10 enjoy the natural attributes of the area known as Blackfellows Hands on the rock and cave and beyond.

This area was a meeting place for the Aboriginal tribes of the area. The rock overhang features a number of hands and weapons painted onto the cave.

The area is accessed via the Blackfellows Hand Trail, an unsealed fire trail. Approximately 10 km from Lidsdale and just off the Wolgan Valley Road/or 24 km north of Lithgow.

The Maiyingu Marragu (Blackfellows Hand) Fire Trail: 4WD or walking best suited, as it is a fire-trail. Distance: From Sealed Road – off Wolgan Valley Road to caves and up to the pagodos the group walked approx. 5km.

Nearby features of interest include the historic ruins at Newnes and the Glow Worm Tunnel.
