Hi Members – Your next opportunity for a club bushwalk
Walk activity: Durridgere/Turill State Conservation area.
Date: Sunday 23 February 2025 (Less than 1 hour away from Mudgee0 with (2) walk options: A & B to suit abilities and distance

Meet/Depart: Mudgee- Lovejoy Street carpark
Time: 8:00am
(departing Mudgee travel along the Ulan Road until you reach the Golden Hwy, turn right and drive a further 2km approx and meeting point on RHS) Arrive Cassilis Rest Area for briefing and equipment allocation by 9:15am.
Description: Walk commences across from the Cassilis Rest Area off the Golden Hwy. Walk along the Turill Perimeter fire trail, regrowth evident and crossing of 2 small creeks/crossing. A: walk distance approx 12km – (A loop walk starting & finishing at Cassilis Rest area)
B: walk distance less than 5km – (Starting at Cassilis Rest area walk with the A group until you reach the tranquil creek approx 2.5km in and explore the sandstone rocks and enjoy an early lunch and return as B group) while A group continue the walk and arrive back at vehicles. Cassilis Rest Area has toilets and picnic tables. Bring M/T and lunch and PPE hydration, and walking poles optional. Additional: What to bring: towel for drying feet (just in case) after crossing Iron bark Crk and Kurrajong Crk.Last visited with the club back in 2020 where we witnessed an amazing abundance of wild flowers and birdlife evident – so bring your binoculars.
