Date: Sunday 20th March 2022
Your leaders: Ole & Greta Kroll Meet: 8.30am Lovejoy Street (Douro St End) carpark Note: Walk Description and more details via email to current members.
What’s special about Hill End: In the early 1870’s rich gold discoveries rapidly turned Hill End from a small rural community into one of the largest inland towns in NSW. Today it provides us with the opportunity to explore what it was like to live and work in a major commercial centre in the late 1800’s.
Walk: Bald Hill Track, starting at the caravan Park and up and over the hill, which gives you a wonderful view. Be careful don’t fall into mineshafts. Once down the hill we will meet up with those who want a relaxing easy stroll and discover the village. We can walk/drive up to Split Rock and have lunch??
To participate you need to be double vaccinated. Please do not attend if you feel sick in any way.
Meet at 8.30am Lovejoy Street (Douro St End) carpark for meet and greet, necessary paperwork, organise carpooling (allowed). What to bring: Morning tea to share, water to drink, lunch to eat. What to wear: Suitable clothing, hat, sturdy walking shoes, walking poles (optional).
