Walk: Mine in the Sky, Point Hatteras & Ladders Defile (Genowlan Area), Mugii Murum-ban SCA)

Grade: Med/Hard Distance: 10-11km
Walk Details/Description: The first 1-1.5km a steep ascent, (360m elevation).(steep at the beginning and at the end of walk), some agility required for ladder climbing, some off track.
Meet: Lovejoy Street carpark (Douro Street entrance) for registering and carpooling optional.
Time: 7:15am for a 7:30 sharp departure.
Re-group at Capertee Rest Area for nature break, then a 8km drive on the Glen Davis Road to trailhead.
Description of Walk/What to expect- Expect mining relics, great views and a beautiful valley with tree ferns etc, Mainly track, with some off track and some ladders – not very high.
Recommend walking poles, hiking boots, gloves, gaitors, Water, morning tea and lunch on the track.
Additional Notes: “In memory of Col Ribaux (26.10.1937 – 9.10.2018 Mt Airly/ Genowlan Mountain and to view some spectacular scenery and the story of Col and his property go to AllOffroad 4×4 Adventures and similar.” If you were one of the privileged ones that met Col you certainly were in for a treat and a story.
